Job Overview

We are seeking a Specialist, Program Management to join our Missile Solutions Sector to lead Minuteman III Post Boost Rocket Engine (PSRE) Sustainment activities at Hill AFB, Utah. In this role you will be responsible for managing an engineering contract focused on sustainment and maintenance of the liquid propulsion system used in the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) program. You will ensure the efficient execution of the contract, coordinating with the contract prime customer and Air Force program office, and successful delivery of all program requirements. This role also serves as the lead of a small team team residing at AR's customer facility on Hill AFB.

This position may be filled at this level or one level higher.

Essential Functions

60% Effective execution of responsible program

  • Lead a cross functional team to execute customer and company requirements providing program leadership and strategy
  • Represent company as primary industry and government customer interface for all program needs
  • Ensure compliance with all contract terms, technical and financial deliverables
  • Manage to cost and schedule targets to achieve program and company goals
  • Collaborate with a multi site cross functional team and company leadership to achieve program goals
  • Provide leadership and collaborate with functional management to oversee local team.
  • Provide technical leadership to team and with customer
  • Must be able to support engineering tasks to support team workload as required.

20% Serve as site lead

  • Provide leadership and collaborate with functional management to manage local team.
  • Manage IT and office supply needs supported by administrative support at other AR facilities.

10% Lead Proposal Activities

  • Collaborate with cross functional team to submit accurate proposals adhering to government regulations and company policy
  • Support subsequent government audits of proposals
  • Negotiate contracts that optimize agreements to best meet company and customer needs

10% Support company financial planning

  • Assess current business environment to forecast financials for your program.
  • Provide a financial assessment of program financials monthly and quarterly with risks to achieve plan and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline and at least ten (10) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with in-space liquid propulsion systems and the MMIII program is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the PSRE system and/or the MMIII Sustainment program.
  • Demonstrated abilities in team building, leadership and delegation skills to achieve project goals.
  • Experience leading a technical team. Engineering or other technical degree recommended or experience working in a highly technical environment required.
  • Experience in leading, encouraging and reviewing work of supporting team members to maximize program success needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and negotiate task objectives, scope description, budgets, and completion criteria for operational activities.
  • Ability to coordinate various activities simultaneously and to make real time plan adjustments.
  • Must be proficient in typical office computer programs for the conduct of program management such as MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word.and to make real time plan adjustments.

US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
