Job Description:
Guest Service volunteer coordinators assist in creating a welcoming atmosphere for patient families to use the Ronald McDonald Family Room. We keep families close by providing a welcoming space for families so they can be near their patient. Our volunteers welcome, care, and try to anticipate the needs of families who may be experiencing stress or grief while maintaining professional boundaries.Volunteers needed for the following shifts, Saturdays and Sundays from 5-9, and Wednesdays 11-3. Shifts can be anywhere from 2-4 Hours depending on volunteer availability and family room needs.
Answer telephone and direct call and messages appropriately
Welcome visitors and guest families
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the Family Room
Check guests in and out of the retreat rooms for naps and overnight stays
Ensure that Family Room guidelines are followed and policies are enforced as needed
Communicate with hospital social workers regarding family referrals and room availability as needed
Assist with group service volunteers and adopt-a-meal groups
Basic computer proficiency, including email, Word and Excel, with the ability to learn relevant computer systems and processes
