Senior Engineer- Strategic Mine Planning

We are looking for aSenior Engineer- Strategic Mine Planning to be a key member of the Mine Technical team. The responsibility of this role will be to support the development of mine plans and strategies to maximize value of the Bingham Canyon resource and mitigate business risk. Ensure that mine plans between the major planning horizons are integrated to ensure no leak of value and that significant risks associated with achieving mine plans are communicated.
The role's main task is to support the development of mine plans across the long-range planning horizons and underlying assumptions for integrated mining cases and business forecasting. Develop material delivery sequences, mine fleet requirements and estimates for capital and operating cost suitable for inclusion into mid-range and life of mine plans.
This role is a great opportunity, you will actively work with multiple stakeholders across the value stream to facilitate best practice and develop mine planning skills in production scheduling and mine design. Supporting the long-range planning teams, you will be responsible for:

Where you'll be working
Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903, and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
