What you'll do

The Site Engineer will be the site lead for managing the on-site construction in progress for key strategic CAPEX projects for the Mars H&W platform (KIND, Nature's Bakery and tru fru). This role will support the larger engineering team for KIND, Nature's Bakery and tru fru. It will be closely linked with the overall business strategy for the platforms and be asked to provide oversight of 3rd party vendors and contractors during constructions and installation of assigned CAPEX projects. Project will be Project Merlin based in Salt Lake City, NV. Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the primary escalation point to the H&W Engineering and Leadership Team for construction and installation status and issues as the primary site engineering resource.
  • Ensure standards on People Safety and Quality and Food Safety are being followed through out the execution of the projects all based on a pre-aligned plan of execution.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of on-site construction and engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met within specified timelines and budgets. Align cross-functional teams on any changes to scope or changes in the field that are necessary.
  • Conduct daily site assessments to identify project constraints and adjustments.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to facilitate project execution.
  • Monitor and analyze project performance, making adjustments as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Implement and adhere to Mars Inc and industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during project implementation.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to management and other critical stakeholders.

How you'll do it

  • Act as a primary point of contact for H&W Business operations leadership for on-site technical execution.
    • Manage technical scope progress for assigned large scale capital projects.
    • Collaborate with the HSE (Health Safety Environmental) and Food Safety and Quality Teams to ensure products are manufactured to specifications and in compliance with Mars INC Safety and Food Safety Standards.
    • Partner with KNA Engineers and Project Managers to ensure proper resourcing and execution of capital projects.
  • Act as a strong business and technical partner to the Business Units to educate, inform, consult and influence in order to deliver H&W strategic priorities and resourcing.
    • Build communication processes that ensure appropriate level of communication of daily activities between all stakeholders.
    • Manage change of scope approvals and alignment with key stakeholders on justification, implementation and tracking
    • Collaborate with the HSE and Food Safety and Quality Teams to ensure projects are completed to specifications and in compliance with Safety and Food Safety Standards.

What you'll bring to KIND

  • 3-5 years' experience in large CPG Contract Manufacturing (preferred)
  • Leadership of cross functional teams
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

You are...

  • Knowledgeable of Quality process and procedure; Supply Chain process and procedure; Manufacturing process and procedure
  • Experienced in Engineering or other PMO roles

You have...

  • Bachelor degree with a focus on engineering, or operations project management
  • 3-5 years practical working experience in process engineering and/or process development roles
  • Knowledge of:
    • Quality and Food Safety process and procedure
    • HSE process and procedure
    • Supply Chain process and procedure
    • Manufacturing process and procedure
    • Lean Manufacturing principles
  • 3 - 5 years in Construction Management or large scale capital installations.
  • Effective relationship management - internal and external
