Schedule, Wage, Shift & Benefits

  • Shift: Monday-Thursday 2:30PM - 12:30AM
  • Wage: $20 - $40 an hour DOE
  • Benefits
    • $10K tuition reimbursement per year

Summary

Overall operations of one or multiple production machines utilizing blueprints, sketches, and route sheets. will actively participate in lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Will be working under general guidance in a team environment.

  • Perform simple set ups and repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming parts where the materials, tooling, and sequence of operations have been pre-planned and established.

* Perform minor machine adjustments and reports improper functioning of machines for correction.
* Perform operations including tapping, spot-facing, chamfering, countersinking, and counterboring to close tolerances.
* Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures and established methods.
* Adjust the feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation.
* Remove, burrs, sharp edges, tool marks, or other irregularities from machined parts.
* Inspect machined parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments, gages, and comparators.
* Uses various types of magnification equipment to detect and avoid damage to surfaces and critical areas
* Visually inspects parts for burrs and damaged machined surfaces.
* Regularly clean and maintain equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability specific to division requirements.
* Regularly perform statistical process control (SPC) specific to division requirements.
* Active participant in lean programs- identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement. Applying new lean initiatives to personal work areas and tools.
* Meets with supervisor to participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
* Observe all safety rules, company policies, and procedures.
* Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements

* 2+ years of general or related machining experience
* Ability to read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions
* General working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, may include trigonometry calculations
* Ability to apply lean initiatives.
* Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication
* Ability to use a computer and relevant software.

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

* Walk, sit, stand for extended periods of time.
* Demonstrate manual dexterity and use of hands to operate machinery.
* Demonstrate vision ability to look up close at items.
* Regular attendance on-site, and ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others.
* May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
